Here at Carr Hill Community Primary School, we have dedicated a whole day to celebrate and learn about British Values. We strongly believe that in reflecting and learning about these values, children will become more resilient and prepare them for life in modern Britain.

We, in upper Key Stage 2, chose a value each to focus on and share a creative, fun and engaging activity for children to become involved in. That British Value I focused on was democracy. We discussed and recapped what it meant to live in a democratic society and where this idea came from. Children were able to engage with political parties’ manifestos and give their opinions.

We had great fun in recreating our own democratic system and finding out the results of our private ballots.
