In Key Stage One this half term we have been exploring and experimenting with watercolour paint. We have investigated how we can apply paint to paper and move it around. We especially enjoyed using the ‘wet on wet’ and splatter techniques.

We then looked at the work of Paul Klee, exploring the colours and shapes he used in some of his paintings. We used his painting ‘Castle & Sun’ as an inspiration for our own art work.

Using 2D shapes we created our own compositions and used our new knowledge of water colour techniques to paint our masterpieces!
