This half term, Year 4 explored the work of artist Marcus Coates, focusing on how his artwork raises awareness of the challenges faced by birds. We carefully studied and sketched bird nests, experimenting with oil pastels and watercolour paints to create detailed observational drawings. We then turned our attention to sculpture, collecting natural materials from around the school grounds and using them alongside clay to create our own unique nest sculptures.
We are very proud of the creativity and craftsmanship shown in our final pieces.
