Key Stage One have been back to visit one of our favourite places! During our visit to Gibside , the children explored the woodland, gardens and open spaces to observe the signs of seasonal change. They carefully looked for changes in the trees, plants and wildlife, noticing the colours of the leaves, the seeds and berries that had appeared, and how the weather had affected the environment.
The children enjoyed discussing their observations, collecting natural materials and comparing what they could see with previous visits. The trip provided valuable opportunities to develop their understanding of the natural world, extend their vocabulary and deepen their appreciation of how the seasons change throughout the year.
We also had a fantastic time in ‘Strawberry Castle’ adventure park where the children showed resilience and bravery trying out new play equipment.
