Year 3 had a fantastic WOW day yesterday to introduce their new topic.
As well as an archaeological dig, involving digging up artefacts found from the Roman times and inferring their function/use, we made shields that represented the shields of Roman soldiers. We learnt about the different types of soldiers and how the shields were dependent on whether they were an auxiliary or legionary. We used symbolic representations to design and make our shields.
Haven’t they turned out incredible?
