Today, our Year 2 children had a visit from Mel from NUSTEM who delivered a session based on sustainability. Our children were sustainable consultants and explored how sustainable different materials are for our environment.
We investigated bags made from different materials and made decisions based on how sustainable they were. We had plastic bags, fabric bags and paper bags and conducted different tests. Firstly, we tested to see whether they could hold shopping. We then checked to see whether the material changed shape or if they were hard to rip. We also checked the materials to see if they were water repellent.
