We had a fantastic day at Kirkley Zoo! Our day started by meeting some of the reptiles at the zoo. We got to meet a wide reptiles inclusion a bearded dragon a cockroach and a corn snake called Susan.
Next, we got to visit the aquarium and the walk of life area of the zoo. As well as looking at a wide range of fish and amphibians, we also got to meet some monkeys, an armadillo and more reptiles.
During our visit we also got to meet some of the animals that live outside. We got to feed the meerkats and lemurs who had a very healthy diet of fruit and vegetables. Meeting the alpacas and the wallabies was so much fun too!
We had an amazing day at the zoo and learnt lots about animals around the world. We especially enjoyed learning about the African animals we met, as we have been learning about their habitats in Geography . It was also great to see all the children putting their science knowledge from last term into action, as they met reptiles, mammals, birds , fish and amphibians.
