What an honour it was for our school to be part of the Gateshead Schools Sports Partnership Inspire Torch Relay last week. It was great to see our children fully immerse themselves in sport and physical education during National School Sports Week. Each day, different classes enjoyed taking part in lots of different sporting activities including cricket, fencing and the daily mile!
Our KS2 children went to Cullercoats beach for their annual beach sports day and what a day we had. The sun was shining and the children loved getting involved in different sporting activities.
This year, our KS2 children have had the amazing opportunity to learn the sport of cricket through sessions lead by some fabulous coaches. In Science, our Year 3 and Year 4 children have been learning about rocks. Today, we enjoyed a visit to Saltwell Park. The purpose of our visit was to find different types of rock and discuss their purpose. We also had a mini scavenger hunt which tested our knowledge of rocks and volcanoes.
A huge thank you to the police officers from Northumbria Police who visited our Key Stage 2 children last week. The children enjoyed meeting the officers and finding out more about the amazing work they do within our community and how they are there to keep us safe.
What a fun morning we’ve had here at Carr Hill! Our KS2 children thoroughly enjoyed their music workshop session with Gateshead Music Service. We enjoyed music by different artists from different decades including Elvis, The Beatles, ABBA, Wham, Oasis, Kylie and George Ezra.
What a lovely evening we had tonight listening to the choir showcasing their talent for some of our parents and carers. The children sang a range of songs and ended with some classic Christmas songs! A huge thank you to the parents and carers who came to watch!
