Our children in Year 5/6 are thoroughly enjoying learning all about World War One. In our History lesson this afternoon, the children studied primary sources of evidence closely and carefully. We studied different artefacts and made predictions about what they thought they were used for during World War One.

In Design and Technology this half term, our Year 5/6 children have been learning about gears and pulleys. Last week, the children explored the mechanism for a pulley and then made their own using string and cups. We then tested our pulleys around the classroom.
This half term, our Year 5 and 6 children have been thoroughly enjoying their new topic ‘A Journey to Space’. As part of Design and Technology, the children have designed and made their very own rockets! Today, we put our rockets to the test and launched them!
A huge thank you to the police officers from Northumbria Police who visited our Key Stage 2 children last week. The children enjoyed meeting the officers and finding out more about the amazing work they do within our community and how they are there to keep us safe.
A huge well done to some of our Year 5 and 6 children who took part in a netball tournament on Friday at Gateshead Stadium. The children showcased great sportsmanship and worked brilliant as a team and as a result came third overall! Well done everyone!
What a fun morning we’ve had here at Carr Hill! Our KS2 children thoroughly enjoyed their music workshop session with Gateshead Music Service. We enjoyed music by different artists from different decades including Elvis, The Beatles, ABBA, Wham, Oasis, Kylie and George Ezra.
